Hollis Fortune is a Cape Cod contemporary artist of abstracts and representational art in acrylics,oils and mixed medium.After raising her family in NH, and working in the medical field and spa industry she has returned to her art.Her life long interest in art and color has led her to work with enameling, stained glass, jewelry with silver and precious stones, and pottery. She has always drawn, and began painting in high school.
Her primary sources of inspiration are music, and the intense colors of the ocean and sunsets.Her art is notable for her use of color and technique to achieve a piece that can draw the viewer into her world.
Hollis has exhibited in group shows at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and the Creative ArtsCenter in Chatham Mass.
Her works are on permanent display at the Guild of Harwich Artists, Rosewind Gallery in Truro Ma. And TheHourglass Gift and Gallery in Melrose Ma.
Hollis has studied with Cape Cod artists Mary Moaquin, and Larry Folding. She has taken numerous private classes through the years and continues to study.
